Marinated Chicken Skewers

These simple chicken kebabs make a delicious summer lunch idea or easy family dinner. Marinated chicken skewers, stuffed into pittas and serve with one of our refreshing side salads or smother with our easy satay sauce or our easy raita - yum! The chicken is marinated in yoghurt and our tandoori masala blend before cooking on the BBQ or in the oven. 

To make this into an easy chicken curry, add the marinated and cooked chicken pieces to our Basic Curry Sauce Recipe.  Or make our easy Chicken Tikka Masala recipe.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Method: BBQ, Grill or Oven

Ingredients:
3 tsp Tandoori Masala Spices
5 heaped tbsp natural yoghurt
500g chicken, cubed into similar size pieces
Good squeeze of lemon juice
Salt, to taste

Method:

  1. Mix the yoghurt, Tandoori Masala, salt and lemon juice in a bowl.
  2. Add chicken (or others) and coat well
  3. Marinate for at least 2 hours but preferably overnight.
  4. Thread onto skewers
  5. Cook on the BBQ, grill or in the oven until cooked through. This will take around 20-25 mins in an oven on 180 but more like 7 minutes each side on a BBQ.

Delicious served with our easy side dishes and you could even make your own easy flatbreads.

The recipe here is for barbecue chicken kebabs but you could also use grilled chicken thighs, haloumi, prawns, aubergine, sweet potato, courgettes and much more!
